If you decide you need one afterwards, you ask from your appointment page and your doctor tells you what it costs. A specialist works slightly differently: the specialist offers you a time from their own diary, so a specialist appointment is scheduled rather than instant.

  • Can I speak to a doctor who understands English?

    Yes, all doctors on Time Medics are fluent in English and verified for clear, effective communication.

  • Are prices fixed or do they vary?

    Prices vary by doctor and case. Primary care and urgent care consultations start from £20.00, and specialist consultations start from £100.00. Each doctor sets their own fee for your request, so the figure depends on who you choose. You see the exact figure before you accept, and nothing is charged until you do. Medication is not part of this fee, and pharmacy costs depend on the treatment.

  • What does a specialist consultation cost, and how do I book one?

    Specialist consultations start from £100.00. The specialties are consultant emergency medicine, cardiologist, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, orthopaedics, paediatrician, gynaecologist and dermatologist. A specialist appointment is always scheduled and never instant: the specialist offers you a time out of their own diary and you pick the one that suits you. If you need to be seen right now, that is urgent care rather than a specialist, and it starts from £20.00.

  • What costs extra?

    Your consultation fee covers the call and whatever you asked for when you made the request, including a prescription if your doctor issues one. What costs extra is a referral or a letter you decide you need afterwards: a referral to a specialist or for a scan, a fit to work or fit to fly certificate, a letter for travelling with medication, or a letter written for your circumstances. None of them has a set price, because your doctor is the only person who knows what the work involves: they tell you what it costs, and nothing is charged until you have agreed to it. If they decide they cannot provide it you are not charged, and if you had already paid you are refunded in full. The medicine itself is always charged by the pharmacy that dispenses it, never by us.

  • Can I get a sick note for work or for my child's school?

    Yes. The document an employer asks for is a fit to work certificate, confirming whether you are fit to work, or unfit and for how long. If you already know you need one, say so on the booking form and the fee each doctor offers will cover it. If you decide afterwards, you ask from your appointment page and your doctor tells you what it costs before anything is charged. Tell them which dates it needs to cover. They write only what they can honestly attest to from the consultation, so if they cannot write what you asked for they tell you why and you are not charged. Some employers have their own form or their own occupational health process, so check what yours accepts first.

  • Where can I get an online prescription dispensed?

    Only in the country where your doctor is licensed. A prescription written by a doctor licensed in one country cannot be filled by a pharmacy in another, so check where your doctor is licensed before you pay for one. It is also an electronic prescription, and not every pharmacy accepts those. Finding a pharmacy that will accept it is your responsibility, and if you cannot find one, neither your doctor nor Time Medics is liable. If you are unsure, ring a pharmacy near you and ask before you buy the prescription.

  • Can I use Time Medics for emergencies?

    No. We’re not an emergency service. If it’s a life-threatening issue, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department. The number differs by country, so check the one for wherever you are staying.

  • Is it possible to get antibiotics without going to a clinic?

    Sometimes. If the doctor judges antibiotics are clinically appropriate for you, they can prescribe them after your video visit, and the prescription is emailed to you. A prescription is part of what your consultation fee covers, so there is nothing extra to pay if one is issued - and nobody can buy a prescription here: a doctor who decides antibiotics are not appropriate will say so. Remember that it can only be dispensed in the country where your doctor is licensed, and that some pharmacies do not accept electronic prescriptions.

  • Is Time Medics available during holidays or odd hours?

    Yes. We operate 24/7, including weekends and holidays. When you send a request, it goes directly to doctors who are online and available to assist.

  • Can I get strong or controlled medications online?

    No, controlled substances (like opioids or ADHD meds) cannot be prescribed through Time Medics. You'll need to see a doctor in person for those.

  • Can I ask the doctor questions after the visit?

    Yes. You can message your doctor for follow-up questions for up to 7 days after your consultation, at no extra cost.
